Ixetic

Push down on your front and rear bumper. If it bounces a few times, your struts are shot. It’s a wear and tear thing. I’m from NE myself. Struts don’t usually last more than 100k if you are lucky and out of Boston

That has to be one of the worst designed roundabouts I’ve ever seen jeeeez

I was raised in this town, it’s quite an old rotary. It’s never been redesigned or ever worked on. Besides having a massive spruce tree in the middle that was lit up for Christmas. I never found it difficult to navigate. Never had a close call myself. Probably went through it 4-6 times a day depending on what I was doing.

That’s not Keene, is that Claremont?

Reminds me of Spore.

Yeah, I hate the idea of them, but I’m going to give one a shot. Aside from health aspects with the feces, I’ve been lucky so far but damage to vehicles and equipment are the main concern I have. So far so good but they can total a vehicle if they destroy the wiring harness.

After the rodent summer I referenced above, the next spring we couldn’t get the tractor started. When the tractor finally started, it started shooting acorns out the exhaust pipe like bullets. The first time it happened, we all ducked, and started laughing. after the 20th time it happened, we were all ducking and covering.

When they started sticking acorns in between the frame work of the hood of my cars, that crossed a line. Started out picking them off an old stump with a 22. But there were too many of them. The traps came out.

I did get a humane chipmunk trap from tractor supply. I removed 25 chipmunks in 16 hours. Dropped off in a field where I know hawks and owls hang out. Let nature do it’s thing. If they survive, they survive. At least allow something get a meal.

With all the jobs available idk why they think they can still fuck with people. I mean shit there’s so many options to choose from even if it is all good or retail by me.

Our parent company’s management just come to our place and told them to stop posting jobs with such high pay because we keep taking employees from them. They literally said they don’t want to pay employees more and told us to stop it.

Fucking despicable. That’s the only words I can muster up for a response cause that’s absolutely fucked up.

And get this! They reported an increase profit of 10 million over the previous year. And we are a “nonprofit.”

Like others have said, our infrastructure is above ground and we have a lot of trees. It’s the densest in the nation. A tree will grow in any land that isn’t kept in only a couple of years. It could be awhile for power companies to restore power because of how heavily impacted the state can get. Someone else mentioned an Oct ice storm. My hometown was the hardest hit in the state. Luckily, it was only 15 days without power. Other parts of my town were out for 28 days. My next door neighbor was out for 35 days because the line going to his house was down.

That is intense! I had no idea. This is super helpful to know!

That’s an extreme side of things. Power usually gets restore in under 8 hours in most situations. Half the time someone runs into a telephone pole. Isolated incidents get repaired quickly.

Nope. Peanuts don’t grow in our region. I don’t think I have ever seen boiled peanuts. In general, peanuts aren’t that big of a thing here.

Just jump it first OP. That car isn’t older than 6 years and it’s probably on its first battery. Let’s start simple.

Yup! And batteries can be older than the car that they are in. I replace car batteries on average ever 4-5 years. I live in the northeast. We sometimes go a couple weeks without seeing temperatures above 0. Last thing I want is a dead battery leaving my job at night.

Four wheelers. So many injuries and deaths from people who don’t respect what they can do and just how easy they are to topple.

We had a huge increase of four wheeler deaths in our state this year. Mostly rentals and out of staters. People panic throttling them into trees.

Hey y’all, First and foremost, thank you for your input. Secondly, he’s been applying for jobs. He’s doordashing for income between them. I know that isn’t a very good idea considering the condition of his car, but I’m not him. I’ve advised him to get a rental for the time being and contact his insurance. I’ve also advised him to buy parts himself/get junkyard parts so that he only has to pay for labor. I’ve also forwarded a lot of your feedback to him.

Use to be a rental agent. In most situations, this is not allowed. There are only specific rental locations that will allow this. I would make sure you check before just going for any ole rental.

Stop ignoring the heroin and drug epidemic, address the serious mental health issues that create many homeless situations, provide temporary housing systems, work to raise the minimum wage to a livable standard to prevent future homelessness and help people who clearly have nobody build a safety net, continue to fund scholarship programs for higher education, assess the needs of the «can’t work» population and build facilities to house and care for them, establish a system that allows for more tiers of public assistance vs loopholes required (ie food stamps are much harder to get if you’re homeless, we see these barriers already and need solutions now), develop state org controlled non-sectioned housing (if they already control the minimum wage, why couldn’t they control the cost of living via free market competition? Can we trust the free market to not gouge every penny of the lower class if we raise the minimum wage?), establish better systems to deal with temporary homelessness (ie battered women with gainful employment needing a temporary shelter should have a much different system available vs those who are established as homeless).

You are right. It will cost us. But it’s the right thing to do. It’ll pay out huge in the long run. Invest a bit in our neighbors seen or unseen, they’ll be functional people shortly paying into the system rather than pulling. Spending a little extra upfront would save taxpayers a lot in the long run because these people won’t be permanently pulling from the system.
